Camping: the Flots Bleus campsite ravaged by flames

The Flots Bleus campsite, star of the “Camping” saga, burned down

More than just a movie set, it is an iconic place that was destroyed by the terrible fire which has been ravaging La Teste-de-Buch in Gironde for several days. The Flots Bleus campsite, a famous holiday resort at the foot of the Pilat dune, which had hosted the filming of Camping and its two sequels, was unfortunately hit and devoured by the flames.

Evacuated during the night of July 12 to 13, 2022, it is one of five campsites “90% destroyed”as announced on July 18 by the prefect of the department.

The director of the Flots Bleus campsite, Franck Couderc, was moved by the disaster at the microphone of France 3.

We suspected that with the wind, it was going to be very complicated (…) We assumed the main thing, we evacuated our vacationers and our employees, and there were no injuries and that’s the essential. We have lost everything. I had my whole life there, my partner took care of the restaurant…

Franck Dubosc lends his support

The actor and director Franck Dubosc, who played Patrick Chirac three times in the series of films by Fabien Onteniente, was thus very touched and expressed himself on social networks.

Also very affected, the director of the films said he was “disaster” at the microphone of RTL. He mentions in particular aunnamed cataclysm“.

I am devastated by this tragedy. I am devastated not only for the Flots Bleus campsite, moreover, since there are five campsites around. There is that of a friend, who was right next door, who was in tears this afternoon… (…) It’s an unnamed cataclysm.”

For the moment, more than 15,000 hectares have unfortunately been burned by the two major fires that broke out in Gironde. All that remains is to take Franck Dubosc at his word and hope that the reconstruction of this campsite and the other destroyed structures can then begin as soon as possible.
