New deal for the construction of office buildings and that of buildings for primary and secondary education. Since July 1, any building permit filing has come under the new environmental regulations for the construction of buildings, known as RE2020, implemented two years late.
Already applied since January 1 to new housing – individual houses and collective buildings -, this regulation aims to reduce CO2 emissions during construction, to make buildings less energy-consuming and to decarbonize the energy used, with the introduction of emission caps – ever more restrictive by 2031 in three-year phases. According to building stakeholders and experts, the challenge will be complex to meet from 2025.
