Ubisoft has announced the postponement of the first-person open-world adventure game Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora until at least April 2023.
This news was revealed during Ubisoft’s first quarter financial report, as the game has been postponed to Ubisoft’s fiscal year 2023-24, which begins next April. No further release timeframe was given.
Speaking about earnings in a Q&A session, Yves Villemot, Co-Founder and CEO of Ubisoft, said the game has been postponed: “Due to the fact that working conditions are more difficult in the sector at the moment, people can’t come to the office often. So that’s the biggest impact.”
The company also confirmed that “another yet-to-be-announced premium smaller game” from this fiscal year has also been pushed back to the following year. It thus joins a huge list of games that have been postponed from 2022 to 2023, mainly due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
