If you are pregnant, at risk or close to someone who is, you are now eligible for the fourth dose. By expanding vaccination, the government is following the recommendations of the High Authority for Health. So far, only immunocompromised people and people over 60 have been affected by the second booster.
This decision was made in a “epidemiological context which remains worrying, with highly contagious variants”, explained yesterday the Ministry of Health. The reminder is for “from now on to adults aged 18 to 60 identified as being at risk of a severe form of Covid, to pregnant women and to people living in the entourage of vulnerable or immunocompromised people”he specified.

17 million eligible French people
5 million people are affected by this extension of vaccination, bringing the total number of French people eligible for this second booster dose to 17 million. So far, 4 million people have received the fourth dose.
It is recommended from three months after the first booster for the most fragile (residents in nursing homes, people over 80 or severely immunocompromised), and from six months for others. If the person catches Covid-19 after the first reminder, the second reminder is considered as early as 3 months after infection.
As for the question of extending the second booster to the entire population, this fall, the Ministry of Health replied: “clearly not”. “Today, there is no likely scenario that would extend the second recall to everyone, although we must remain cautious”he said.
