PlayStation Stars – PlayStation is launching a loyalty program: complete campaigns and earn rewards.
Over the 27 years of our company’s existence, we have never ceased to be touched by the ability of great gaming experiences to create lasting and positive memories for gamers. At PlayStation, we take great pleasure in creating unique products and experiences for our fans. This philosophy encompasses our consoles, our critically acclaimed games, but also community challenges like Claim the Throne and Treat Codes, not to mention digital and live events like State of Play.
Today, I’m delighted to introduce PlayStation Stars, a brand new loyalty program honoring gamers, to thank them for embarking on this ever-evolving video game journey with us. You’ll be able to sign up for PlayStation Stars for free when it’s released this year. Once you register, you will earn rewards by completing a variety of campaigns and activities. To get the “Monthly Check-In” campaign reward, you just need to play any game. In other campaigns, you will have to win tournaments, earn specific trophies or even be the first player in your time zone to achieve the platinum trophy for a flagship title.
Everyone who signs up for PlayStation Stars will have the opportunity to earn loyalty points. Members will then be able to redeem these points for items in a catalog that may include funds for the PSN wallet and certain PlayStation Store products. PlayStation Plus subscribers registered for PlayStation Stars will automatically earn points for their PlayStation Store purchases.
Additionally, with the launch of the PlayStation Stars program, we have decided to introduce a new type of reward, “Digital Collectibles”. These collectibles are as varied as our range of products and franchises. These range from digital representations of items loved by fans of the PlayStation universe, such as figurines of iconic characters from games or other forms of entertainment, to peripherals celebrating Sony’s history and innovations. There will always be a new collectible to win, an ultra-rare item to covet, or something surprising to collect for fun.
We hope this new program will bring back fond memories of your games, while inspiring you to discover what PlayStation has in store for you, with commemorations of the gaming eras we have created together, new paths to walk and international celebrations bringing together the players. This is just the beginning for PlayStation Stars, and the program will continue to evolve over time. We are currently conducting preliminary tests on this program ahead of its planned launch this year in staggered rollouts.
