Tanning and exfoliation: the winning combo for a golden tan
We all know that exfoliating regularly removes dead cells from our skin. For tan quickly, eliminating these cells allows the epidermis to renew itself, to obtain a less term complexion and to be more receptive to the sun’s rays. However, it is recommended not to expose yourself directly after an exfoliation and rather to wait until the next day. Once you get a nice tan, a regular exfoliation (1 to 2 times a week depending on your needs) will make the tan last while keeping your skin luminous. Also note that we will not forget to hydrate well to keep a healthy epidermis.
Exfoliation: which scrub to choose?
There are two types of scrubs: mechanicalusually formulated with grains to exfoliate the skin with a circular motion, and thechemical exfoliation based on enzymes, molecules of botanical origin that detach dead cells from the epidermis. We recommend the first for combination and oily skin and the second for dry or reactive skin. For the body, there are generally mechanical scrubs with different ingredients: sugar, lotus and white tea at Rituals or even hazelnut seeds and softening honey at Unbottled.

Face scrub: grain or enzymatic?
The skin of the face being more exposed to the sun’s rays than the rest of the body, it is essential to take greater care of it during the summer. For this, we generally recommend an enzymatic scrub, which is softer than a grain scrub. One that we love, which can be used on both the face and the body, is Yo Detox from Wishful. 3-in-1, this exfoliator contains enzymes from pineapple, papaya, AHA, BHA and charcoal. Thus, impurities are eliminated, pores refined and sebum regulated.
