It was as part of his role in the series that the 47-year-old actor had to lose weight. Indeed, the character of Jim Hopper begins the new season in a labor camp. It was therefore necessary to stick to the image of a prisoner.
At first, David Harbor explains that he worked with a trainer “for 8 months to make the transformation, then an additional year to maintain it during the pandemic”.
David Harbor thus went from 122 kilos to 86 kilos, which amounts to a total loss of 36 pounds.
“All things considered, it was a challenging and exciting course with changes in diet and exercises”he confides.
A warning about diets
In a recent interview with GQ Magazine, David Harbor detailed his weight loss secrets. (source 2) In particular, he revealed that he had practiced intermittent fasting and the pilatesa physical form aimed at strengthening the muscles.
If he is proud of the course he has accomplished, David Harbor does not hide the disadvantages of such a transformation. Whether in an interview or on Instagram, he underlines the fact that this diet has been supervised by professionals and that it is not to be reproduced.
“All those ups and downs aren’t good for the body, and I’m going to have to give them up soon, but it’s such a fun part of the job to live in a different version of your skin for a while,” he concludes.
