The highly anticipated X-Men ’97 reboot finally got a release window during Marvel’s session on cartoon studio projects at San Diego Comic-Con, and Marvel confirmed that the reboot will be released via Disney+ in the fall of 2023.

Many classic characters will return to the series, including Rogue, Beast, Gambit, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Storm, Jubilee and Cyclops. The character designs stick to the original look from the ’90s comics, but will be a little more intense.
In the clip that was played, Magneto appeared and said, “You’re looking at the new leader of the X-Men.” Other returning characters include Cable, Bishop, Forge, Morph, NIightcrawler, and Sunspot. We also learned that one of the main themes of the series would be: “Why do we still need the X-Men?”
The X-Men ’97 reboot was first announced last year, and series generals Eric and Julia Lewald have confirmed that it will continue exactly where the original X-Men series ended. The original series had a somewhat suspended ending, with Charles Xavier badly injured and Empress Lilandra having to save him.
