Authorities from the San Bernardino County sheriff’s department in southern California have announced that the identification process for the recently discovered human remains will be completed by next week. British actor Julian Sands, 65, disappeared on January 13 while hiking in the San Gabriel Mountains, located north of Los Angeles.
Renowned for his roles in acclaimed productions like the Oscar-winning film “A Room with a View” and popular TV series “24” and “Smallville,” Sands’ filmography also includes notable works such as the 2011 film “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” where he starred alongside Daniel Craig.
Sands, originally from Otley, West Yorkshire, vanished during inclement weather conditions in the Baldy Bowl area. The Fontana Sheriff’s Station was alerted by civilian hikers who came across the human remains in the Mt Baldy wilderness.
