- Deer Creek Reservoir is about 52 miles southeast of Salt Lake City. Head east on I-80 then turn south on U.S. 40 exit 146. In Heber City, take the fork west on U.S. 189. From Provo, Deer Creek is about 25 minutes from downtown on U.S. 189 (Provo Canyon). Summer: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Winter: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Make a reservation on the Utah State Parks reservation site
