- This lake is a California Department of Fish and Wildlife target fishery for hatchery catchables. Fifteen to twenty thousand rainbow trout catchables and forty to fifty thousand rainbow and brown fingerlings are planted each year. This lake is very popular with anglers and the estimates are over 65 percent of these fish are caught each season. Toward the end of the summer, water levels are drawn down, making boat launching difficult as well as limiting access for the fish planting trucks.
