- Accessibility information
- Click on the image above to view more photos of accessibility features at this site. The parking lot for the site is paved and striped with 8 parking spaces, 2 of which are designated as accessible spots. Some visitors also parallel park along the hard surface access road. A single unisex accessible vault toilet is located near the parking lot, and a double unisex accessible vault toilet is at the opposite (west) end of the accessible paved trail that runs east to west from the parking area. There is no running water at the site. From the start of the trail near the parking lot, an accessible wooden bridge with 5-foot-wide wooden planks leads visitors across the Wood River to the trail’s western portion. The trail is 5 feet wide and terminates after 0.7 miles. It has a typical grade of 1 percent, with 10 percent of the trail at 5 percent grade. The trail borders the linear pollinator garden and along the trail are 4 benches with arms on both sides, to assist visitors who have difficulty standing from a seated position. Several interpretive panels are located along the trail. They are angled toward the viewer at a height appropriate for visitors using wheelchairs or other mobility devices. There are two accessible picnic tables along the trail. The tables sit on asphalt pads reachable by paved paths and have extensions on one end to accommodate wheelchair users. The first table is along the main path near the parking area and is made of composite material. The second is located a short distance off the main path near the pollinator garden and is made of concrete. The tables are not covered by shade structures, but deciduous trees provide shade seasonally at certain times of the day. Descriptions and photos uploaded September 2024. Please note that actual on-the-ground conditions may vary due to natural events (e.g., weather, wildfires, erosion), normal wear and tear, or site improvements.
